Undergoing a process of renovation and high-technology modernization to adjust to its more than three-million population, Guatemala City blends an impressive skyline of contemporary architecture, boutiques, malls and beautiful residential neighborhoods with homes and businesses dating back to the beginning of the 20th century, such a historic market and houses, which speak of by-gone days.

Amidst this colorful mosaic, sits the beautiful campus of the Universidad Francisco Marroquin, a private institution of higher education with its impeccable and manicured landscapes and renowned arboretum, a treat to visitors and locals alike.

The University houses an extraordinary cultural center with the Auditorium Juan Bautista Gutierrez, home of the Festival Internacional Bravissimo, the Museo Popol Vuh, with its archaeological treasures and the Museo Ixchel del Traje Indígena.

A visit should be considered a must for anybody visiting the City.  If you are interested, let us know, and we will book a tour for you. The museums are open from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m on week days.

The Festival Internacional Bravissimo of the Department of Performing Arts of the University Francisco Marroquín, presents a plethora of excellent concerts with world class artists and international troupes.  Be sure to check out our website at conciertos.ufm.edu and purchase your tickets online. Upon departure after the concert, we can call you a cab or uber.  You can be sure we will take care of contacting a well know taxi driver when you are ready for departure.
